All About Viruses {For Newbie}

[*] Trojan Horse
Destructive=
Crashing the computer or device.
Modification or deletion of files.
Data corruption.
Formatting disks, destroying all contents.
Spread malware across the network.
Spy on user activities and access sensitive information.
[*]Adware
How Adware Can Infect Your Computer
Other than displaying advertisements and collecting data, Adware doesn’t generally make its presence known. Usually, there will be no signs of the program in your computer’s system tray – and no indication in your program menu that files have been installed on your machine.

There are two main ways in which Adware can get onto your computer:

Via freeware or shareware
Adware can be included within some freeware or shareware programs – as a legitimate way of generating advertising revenues that help to fund the development and distribution of the freeware or shareware program.
Infected websites
A visit to an infected website can result in unauthorized installation of Adware on your machine. Hacker technologies are often used. For instance, your computer can be penetrated via a browser vulnerability, and Trojans that are designed for stealthy installation can be used. Adware programs that work in this way are often called Browser Hijackers.

[*]Ransomware
is a type of malware that restricts access to the infected computer system in some way, and demands that the user pay a ransom to the malware operators to remove the restriction. Some forms of ransomware systematically encrypt files on the system's hard drive, which become difficult or impossible to decrypt without paying the ransom for the encryption key, while some may simply lock the system and display messages intended to coax the user into paying. Ransomware typically propagates as a trojan, whose payload is disguised as a seemingly legitimate file.
[*]Spyware
is software that aims to gather information about a person or organization without their knowledge and that may send such information to another entity without the consumer's consent, or that asserts control over a computer without the consumer's knowledge
[*]Worm
is a standalone malware computer program that replicates itself in order to spread to other computers.[1] Often, it uses a computer network to spread itself, relying on security failures on the target computer to access it. Unlike a computer virus, it does not need to attach itself to an existing program.[2] Worms almost always cause at least some harm to the network, even if only by consuming bandwidth, whereas viruses almost always corrupt or modify files on a targeted computer.
[*]Rougeware
is a form of malicious software and Internet fraud that misleads users into believing there is a virus on their computer, and manipulates them into paying money for a fake malware removal tool (that actually introduces malware to the computer). It is a form of scareware that manipulates users through fear, and a form of ransomware.[1] Rogue security software has become a growing and serious security threat in desktop computing in recent years
[*]Fraudware
(also called fakeware) is
malicious software on a computer that poses as legitimate but is really malware. It may falsely notify a user that s/he is infected with malware.
[*]Swindleware
[*]Rootkit
is a type of software designed to hide the fact that an operating system has been compromised, sometimes by replacing vital executables. Rootkits allow viruses and malware to “hide in plain sight” by disguising as necessary files that your antivirus software will overlook.
